Sea kayak tour

Go Sea Kayak Byron Bay

Byron Bay

Direct booking (Rezdy)

Eco-Certified + Recognising Our Culture-Certified kayak operator. 2.5hr Marine Park tour with dolphin guarantee.

Our review

Go Sea Kayak is the only Byron kayak operator with both Eco-Certification AND the Recognising Our Culture certification (acknowledging Bundjalung Country properly). Same dolphin guarantee as Cape Byron Kayaks, slightly shorter tour (2.5 vs 3 hours), slightly cheaper price, Rezdy-integrated for direct booking.

Who it suits: travellers who care about the operator's environmental + cultural certifications, not just the experience itself. Backpackers wanting a shorter half-day morning before doing something else the same day. Anyone who'd prefer to book direct via Rezdy versus through a Viator-style aggregator.

Pricing: ~$79 per person. 2.5-hour tour from Clarkes Beach, all gear included, basic briefing on the sand, then paddling into the Marine Park. Dolphin guarantee enforced (free re-trip if no sighting). Whale season May-November adds humpback encounters.

What stands out: the two certifications matter. Eco-Certification means proper environmental practices in the marine park. Recognising Our Culture is the Bundjalung-led acknowledgment of Country — the kayak takes you across waters that have been navigated by the Arakwal Bundjalung for thousands of years, and Go Sea actually integrates this acknowledgment into the tour content.

Vs Cape Byron Kayaks (the alternative): both are excellent. Cape Byron has the longer tour (3 hours), the longer brand history (since 1995), the slightly higher price. Go Sea has the certifications, the slightly cheaper price, the Rezdy direct-booking. We'd pick on availability + the specific aspect that matters most to you. Either delivers the dolphin/kayak experience.

The catch: weather cancellations are real. Wind direction, swell size, water visibility all affect whether the tour runs. Book 2-3 days into your stay rather than the last day, so there's a backup window. Bring sunscreen + a hat — you'll be in the sun for 2.5 hours on open water.

Rezdy direct booking link is at goseakayak.rezdy.com — booking direct keeps more revenue with the operator. Currently we link to this without affiliate tracking (per our operator partnership pitch, we're working to formalise that).
