Mother's Day in Byron: brunch queues + flower shop notes
A practical heads-up if your mum is visiting this weekend.
By Byron Bay Backpackers editorial team
Mother's Day brings the second-busiest brunch Sunday of the year to Byron after Easter Sunday. Bayleaf Café, Top Shop, Combi and Three Blue Ducks at The Farm all reported queues out the door last year and the same is expected this weekend.
Practical tips if you're hosting: - Book Three Blue Ducks if you want the splurge option — they don't walk-in well on this day. - Bayleaf Café opens at 6:30am — turn up before 9am and you'll skip the queue. - Combi takeaway window queue moves faster than the dine-in. - Bay Centre Pharmacy (Marvell St) has the broadest flowers + card selection within walking distance of the CBD; verify hours Sunday before you walk down.
The Beach Hotel sunset lawn at golden hour is the easiest "I planned this" option that requires no booking. One round of drinks and one shared lawn picnic from the bottle shop = a Mother's Day people remember.
